As a final requirement for graduating from the Fashion Department in my University we had to organize, produce and design a fashion show. This year under the coaching of various important fashion designers from the island we had the opportunity to present our graduate collection on Puerto Rico High Fashion Week. The most prestigious fashion event on the island. My collection was inspired on the Napoleonic Empire.

One of the many jobs I do is styling. I work with a local magazine called Magacin Lifestyle and after the last hurricane we had, my editor was inspired to do an editorial, called 3D al Natural, based on the chaos left behind and the return to nature, portraying the always returning trend of wearing black during the fall.

A while ago, The Olsen Twins introduced a $39,000 backpack as a part of their The Row line. The backpack is made of crocodile and is the priciest item in their collection. It’s so expensive in fact that it’s even more expensive than a $29,000 piece of luggage from Victoria Beckham’s collection. At first, I was surprised and shocked to see that they were selling at the same price range of Hermes but two pre-orders were made at Barneys and pretty soon it sold out. In a recent interview Ashley Olsen said they were rushing to keep up with the high demand of the backpack and added it was the first thing to sell out. It seems a bit amazing since we are apparently going through an economic crisis but she also added that: “During our last economic crisis in the U.S., the only thing that went up was Hermès”.

If the past few months have showed us something it’s that fashion and royalty go hand in hand, and this month’s Vogue Paris confirms it. Princess Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of the beautiful Princes Caroline of Monaco and fourth in line to the throne of Monaco, graces the cover of their September Issue. While the media focuses on Kate Middleton’s style (or lack thereof), I wondered when it would shift to Charlotte, who in my opinion has the better style. She is not only a princess but an elite equestrian and a fashion journalist who, with two friends, created Ever Manifesto an environmentally conscious fashion magazine.
Charlotte, who has a fresh, simple and charming image was photographed by Mario Testino under the direction of Emmanuelle Alt, Vogue Paris’s new Editor in Chief and was given a 23 page spread.

A short while ago, I did some shopping at a new concept store by BCBG corp. called BCBGeneraion, it offers trendy clothes at a lesser price than the regular BCBG and its targeted to a younger public.
